Find the area of the room and the area of the circle rug and then subtract those two answers.
Area of the room:
Area=side squared
A=16 x 16
A=256
Area of the circle rug:
Area=Pi times radius squared
A=3.14 x 8 squared
A=3.14 x 64
A=200.96
Area of the room minus area of the rug:
256-200.96=55.04
