1*x - 1/3 * x = 3/3 * x - 1/3 * x = 2/3* x remain

On Tuesday, she sold 1/4 of the REMAINDER, so

1/4 * 2/3 * x = 2/12 * x = 1/6 * x were sold

so for the remaining after Tuesday but before Wednesday,

there are 1 - 1/3 - 1/6 = 6/6 - 2/6 - 1/6 = 4/6 - 1/6 = 3/6 = 1/2

of them remaining

So 1/2 *X = 50

Multiplies both sides by 2: X = 100

She began with 100 pineapples

1/3 of them were sold on Monday, so she sold 1/3*100 = 33 1/3 pineapples on Monday.

She began Tuesday with 100-33 1/3 = 66 2/3 = 200/3

She sold 1/4 of this amount on Tuesday...
