A kite needs to be flown at a height feet in the air. The kite's string will be attached to a pole, at a point feet above the ground. The angle of elevation from the point where the string is attached to the kite is .
What is the length of the rope that will hold the kite at the correct height?

Math, microeconomics or criminal justice
let h= height required for the kite
let p = pole height
let A = the angle formed by a horizontal line from the top of the pole to a point directly below the point where the kite is flying
construct a right triangle with base = b, and height = h-p
hypotenuse = sqr(b^2 + (h-p)^2) feet = length of the rope or string used to fly the kite-
base = square root of (hypotenuse squared minus (h-p)^2)
A = cos^-1((h-p)/sqrr(b^2+(h-p)^2)
