Greetings! Lets solve this shall we ?
So, we must find the equation of a line that is parallel to the given line 2x+5y=15 such that
2x+5y=15
5y = -2x+15
y = (-2/5)x+3
We then use the point and slope from the given line to find a line parallel such that
y - y1 = m(x - x1)
y - 1 = (-2/5)(x - (-10))
y - 1 = (-2/5)(x + 10)
y - 1 = (-2/5)x - (20/5)
y - 1 = (-2/5)x - 4................Then add 1 to both sides such that
y = (-2/5)x - 3
I hope this helped!
