Assuming the experiment involved reaction of HCl with some carbonate, e.g. Na2CO3, you would have something like
CO32- + 2H+ ==> CO2 + H2O. Not sure if this was run in the Florence flask or if the gas was collected in the Florence flask. This bit of information would affect the answer. I'll assume the reaction was carried out in the florence flask.
- Increasing temperature would increase production of CO2
- Using more HCl would increase CO2 if and only if the other reactant is not limiting. Again, you didn't provide all the information.
- Which water did you saturate with CO2? The collection flask? That being the case, you should not pre-saturate this and then you will collect more CO2.
