Thank you, Amber, just want to be sure that second equation is "0.2x + 5y = -1" especially underlined coefficient.

3x - 2y = 8 Let's multiply this equation by 2 ----> 6x - 4y = 16
2x + 5y = -1 Let's multiply this equation by (-3)  -6x - 15y = 3    
Now, let's add them up                                     0   - 19y = 19
                                                                                y = -1
Next, in first equation, let's substitute y by its value
3x - 2(-1) = 8 ------> 3x + 2 = 8 ----> x = 2
The answer is pair of numbers (2, -1)

82x + 5y = -1

To eliminate the y variable, we can multiply the first equation by (5/2), obtaining the system:
(15/2) x - 5y = -5/2
82x + 5y = -1

Adding the two equations:

[(15/2)+82] x = -5/2 - 1 = -7/2

Multiplying this equation by 2:

(15 + 164) x = -7

179x = -7

x = -7/179

Substituting in the first equation:

3(-7/179) - 2y = -1

-2y = -1 + 21/179

-2y = -158/179

y = 79/179

So the solution is: x = -7/179 and y = 79/179.
