Please help me with this question I am in math 1 because my teacher never taught me anything and failed me.

Todd has a collection of 8 CDs and Sally has a collection of 18 CDs. Todd is adding 9 CDs a month to his collection while Sally is adding 7 CDs a month to her collection. When will they have the same number of CDs and how many CDs will they have?

Let x - # of months that have gone by


Todd will have 8 + 9x CD's and Sally will have 18 + 7x CD's/ Set them equal to each other and solve for x


8 + 9x = 18 + 7x


2x = 10


x = 5, they will have the same number of CD's in 5 months (53 total).
