A car travelling on a straight road at a constant speed of 54km/h, takes 20 seconds to travel the distance between two sign post.

Calculate a) the speed of the car in m/s.

               b)The distance in metres between the two sign post.

distance = speed*time

 

a) speed = (54 km/h)*(1000 m/km)*(1/3600 h/s) = 15 m/s

 

b) distance = speed*time

    distance = (15 m/s)*(20 s) = ____ m
