How do I get the answer to this?

What is the slope of a line parallel to the line with equation y=-3. What is the slope of a line perpendicular to the line with equation y=-3?

there is no x in y = -3.  Because, the slope is zero.  (0)(x) = 0
A line parallel to y = -3 could be y = -1 or y = 5 or y = 17.

Hey Lauren, I know the formula but what can I use for the x’s and the other y? There is only one y which is -3. I don’t really get this
