and solve for t.

 

192 = -16t² + 12t ⇒

 

-16t² + 12t - 192 = 0

 

Note that the discriminant of this quadratic equation is negative, so there is no real solution to this problem.  The object never reaches 192 ft.  This is a very poor question, asking for what cannot be found.  Was the question typed correctly?
