SAT math question

Reseacher in australia carried out experiment to know how coffee mug color effects the rating of people about its flavor intensity. On the basis of the results from different volunteers, the researchers concluded that the mean flavour intensity rating for those who drank coffee in white mug was greater than that of black. what can be concluded.

1. colour was the cause of difference in intensity and can be accounted for all coffee drinkers
2. colour was the cause of difference in intensity but it is not accountable to all coffee drinkers

Mark M.

I would say neither. The experiment measured correlation, not causation.
