<1 and <2 form a linear pair. The measure of <2 is six more than twice the measure of <1. Find m<2

Not sure how to do this at all. I know it involves  180 because linear pairs but not sure ab anything beyond that.

Can you explain a little better I’m not sure how you set it up.

Let a = the measure of angle 1.

6 more than twice that is 2a + 6.

a + 2a + 6 = 180
3a + 6 = 180
3a + 6 - 6 = 180 - 6
3a = 174
3a/3 = 174/3
a = 58

2(58) + 6 = 122

122 + 58 = 180

Why do u add the first a to the equation?

Because linear angles added together equal 180. If a is the measure of one angle and 2a + 6 is the measure of the other, then a + 2a + 6 = 180.
