The oven tray is 600mm by 500mm. A cake tin is 25cm in diameter.how many cake tins can jenny fit on the oven tray at the same time?

Just a maths question I keep getting different answers for and can find the answer online

I bet I know where your error lies.

 

The oven tray is (600/10)(500/10) = 3000cm² and not 600(500)/10 = 30,000 cm²

 

The area of the tin is pi(12.5)² = 491cm²

 

3000/491 = 6.1

 

We can't have part of a tin, so we can fit 6 tins on a tray. Even if it were 6.7, we wouldn't round up because that would take us over the room on the tray!
