Jan needs to clean her room , and is arranging the following schoolbooks on his bedroom shelf, math, french, English, science and history books, if he randomly stands the five books next to each other on the shelf, what's the probability that science and french books will be on the two ends?

There are two ways to have science& French books at the ends.

There are 3! ways of arranging the other 3 within the three positions remaining; therefore that's 12 ways of meeting the special criteria.

There are 5! ways to arrange, with no limited criteria.

P(French/science 'bookends) =12 / 120 = 1/10.
