Math question (Algebra)

If f(x)=2^(3x+1)

Show that f(x+1)-f(x) is divisible by 7 if x is a whole, non-negative number.

I tried solving this but I always block at the same place and have no clue how to proceed.

I don't understand, how did you get to 23x+4? Shouldn't it be 23x+2?

f(x+1)
=2(3x+1)+1
=23x+2
