Plug in 2Y for X in EQUATION 1 to get 0.05(2Y) + 0.10Y = 9960

Simplify that equation to get 0.10Y + 0.10Y = 9960

Simplify that equation to get 0.20Y = 9960

Divide both sides by 0.20 to find the value for Y

Plug that value into EQUATION 2 to find the value for X
