A tank is 5/12 full of water. it takes a further 30 litres to bring the tank up to half full, what is the capacity of the tank in litres? Please show working, Thank you.

capacity of tank =x

 

presently tank is having 5x/12  unit water

 

5x/12 + 30 = x/2

 

5x +360 = 6x

360 =x

 

capacity of tank is 360 unit
