It's easier than it seems, Emma! Whenever you multiply a dimension by a constant (like 3) then you multiply the volume by that same number. In your case, though, you multiplied three different dimensions by 3, which means you multiplied your original answer by 3 X 3 X 3 = 27.
Since you began with 12, your final answer will equal 12 X 27
