Hello Alex,
Assuming no parentheses in the original problem, we have
21 - 14 / 7 + 11 -4
Division comes before addition and subtraction, so let's do 14 / 7 =2 first, yielding:
21 - 2 + 11 - 4
Even though it is written PEMDAS, which would seem to imply addition comes before subtraction,
you actually do whichever comes first, from left to right.
So, we get the following
19 + 11 -4
= 30 - 4
= 26.
