A common way to remember the order of operations is the abbreviation "PEMDAS", which is turned into the phrase "Please Excuse My Dear Aunt Sally". It stands for "Parentheses, Exponents, Multiplication and Division, and Addition and Subtraction".
Assuming you intended 6 divided by 2*(1+2): 6/2(1+2) = 6/2(3) = 6/6 = 1
Then again, if you really meant to write (6/2) * (1+2) = 3*3 = 9 :-))

multiplication and division IN ORDER across the page, means you divide 6 by 2 then multiply by 3 and get 9.
