Nondirectional Independent groups T-Test

Question

What do the equations for each step to solve this test look like? My text book has them laid out in a way that is too confusing to understand what the step by step process should look like, and my answer isnt matching up with the one in the back of the book.

Well, the main difference is that the claims don't have inequalities in them:

H₀: μ = some number

H_a: μ ≠ that same number

The critical value comes from the T table and must be found by dividing the significance (α) in half, since the two tales must share it. The test score won't change as a result, but it will have a positive and negative tail in which it may land.
