I am going to suppose that you have been given the formula for the volume of a right triangular pyramid i.e. (1/3) * area of the base * the height.

 

Area of the base is .5 * 10 * 8.7 = 43.5

 

Volume = (1/3) * 43.5 * 12 = 174
