This is an incomplete question. You state that 3.00 g of Mg(OH)2 reacts but with what? You probably are looking at a reaction similar to Mg(OH)2 + 2HCl ==>MgCl2 + 2H2O
Moles Mg(OH)2 used = 3.00 g Mg(OH)2 x 1 mole/58.3 g = 0.0515 moles
Moles MgCl2 produced = 0.0515 moles Mg(OH)2 x 1 mole MgCl2/mole Mg(OH)2 = 0.0515 moles MgCl2
Mass MgCl2 = 0.0515 moles x 95.2 g/mole = 4.89 g
