One way is to find the miles per hour rate and use that to determine the final answer:
miles per hour... mph = 78/1.5 = 52 mph
Driving at 52 mph for 2.5 hours: 52(2.5) = 130 miles

One could also use a proportion:
78 is to 1.5 as x is to 2.5
78/1.5 = x/2.5
cross multiply
1.5x = 78(2.5)
x = 78(2.5)/1.5
x = 130 miles
