There is $14.94 worth of quarters, nickels, dimes and pennies.  There are six more nickels than dimes, ten more pennies than dimes, 3/5 many quarter than nickels. How many each type coin is there?

N = D+6

 

P = D + 10

 

Q = 3/5N = 3/5(D+6)

 

Substitutes the last 3 into the first

 

1494 = 25 ( 3/5)(D+6) + 10 D + 5 (D+6) + (D+10)

 

1494 = 15(D+6) + 10D + 5(D+6) + (D+10)

 

1494 = 15D + 90 + 10D + 5D + 30 + D + 10

 

1494 = 31D + 130

 

1364 = 31 D

 

D=44

 

N = 50

 

P=54
