Cary is 8 years older than Dan. In 9 years the sum of their ages will be 98. Find the age of each man now.

(X+8)+X + 9 + 9 = 98

 

2x + 26 = 98

 

2x = 98 - 26

 

2x = 72

 

x=36

Cary 44

 

In 9 years, they are 45 and 53 which totals 98.
