POV 3rd Person

Question

Must I be 3rd Omni to write a scene that doesn't include the MC? I prefer to stay with the MC for the most part, but feel there are times that I would like to set  a small scene (away from the MC) to move the story along.

You don’t have to choose third-party omni. You could either choose a third-party observer (neutral or not) from whom the main character is recounting events, choose to read from a transcript of the scene (maybe it was taking place in a courtroom, meeting or classroom) that perhaps your MC got their hands on, or reveal it through conversations of characters in a different scene.
