Hey! Lets solve this shall we ?
So, this problem is saying the base of a triangle is 2 meters less than 4 times its height. What is the area when the height is 8 meters? Now, we begin to label the base and height such that the base is
b = 4x - 2 and the height is
h = x.
Since the height is 8 meters, the base is 4(8) - 2 = 30 meters. Now we can find the area of a triangle such that
A = (1/2)bh = (1/2)(30)(8) = (1/2)(240) = 120 square meters
I hope this helped!
