Fraction word problem

Ty jones is estimating the number of plywood sheets in a 75 inch tall stack. If each sheet of plywood is 1 1/8 inch thick how many sheets should he expect

Answer 1

75 inches DIVIDED into 1 1/8 inch sections

 

75/(1 1/8) = 75/(9/8) = 75(8/9) = 66 2/3

 

There are either 66 or 67 sheets.

I would figure the extra 2/3 inches is from slight warping of

some of the sheets.  There are most likely 66 sheets in the stack.
