I think that every one has his or her system of doing things, your system is good and I liked it and mine is good as well, I also see square roots in your system so I do not understand the exactness of the system. I see your way as a good one and also I see mine as another good one. I deserve credibility and you also so the final idea is not create a competency but explain to the student how he or she will get the problem solved without more or less exactitude I think we are not sending a rocket to the moon or calculating the exact position of a location in the earth.

Your answer is fine....just radicals inside radicals are hard for students to simplify or even understand. Also the decision of plus or minus can be confusing. I have also been under the understanding that unless a problem clearly states that approximations are ok, most teachers expect the exact answer when possible. Would you prefer an answer of 10000pi over 31400 for some circle problem. I've always emphasized to students the dangers of approximations of irrational numbers. In any case, no disrespect was intended.
