Trigonometry Help

I have the answer to my question but I don't know how to get the answer myself so I figure try asking here.
 
I am given the equation 2/cot(x) - csc(x) and asked which of the following is equivalent to the expression, the answer is -2(cot(x) + cscx) but i'm not sure how this was solved.

The problem statement was missing some parentheses, and that makes a big difference.  With parentheses in the right place, they come out equal.
