Beth has 230ft of fencing available to make a rectangle enclosed in an open field. The enclosure needs to have an area of 3000ft^2. If she has to use all 230ft of fencing, what dimensions should she make the rectangle enclosure?

Answer 1

Beth uses 115 feet for one length and one width

w represents the amount for the length

115 - w represents the amount for the length

 

3000 = w(115 - w)
