Find the missing endpoint, Given the other endpoint and the midpoint .

The given:
 
Endpoint: (10,9)
Midpoint: (8,10)

Let (x,y) be the other endpoint.  
 
Then, (x+10)/2 = 8.  So, x = 6
 
         (y+9)/2 = 10   So, y = 11
 
(x,y) = (6,11)

Since (x+10)/2 = 8, multiply both sides by 2 to get x+10 = 16
 
Subtract 10 from both sides to get x = 6

Where did you get the 10? My problem is that I have Endpoint A= (5,1) and midpoint P=(7,-4) and I have to find B!
