Estimate the number of trout in the lake. Please help me!

. Game wardens use experiments to help determine the number of trout in a lake. Suppose 50 trout are caught, tagged, and released back into the lake. Two weeks later 90 trout are caught, of which 5 are found to have tags. Estimate the number of trout in the lake.

50 tagged/x, # fish overall = 5/90 at sampling time 2 weeks later.

 

x = 900 ... a likely estimate.
