Question

A hedgehog wants to cross a road to reach a particularly interesting piece of grass on the other side. The grass is 5 metres further along the road from a point directly opposite where the hedgehog is standing. The hedgehog is so anxious to reach the grass that it sets off diagonally, heading straight for the piece of grass. If the road is 12 metres wide, how far will the hedgehog travel walking in a straight line?
