i want to install carpeting in my new parlor. the room measurements are 15 ft long by 12 ft wide. carpeting sells for $36 per square yard and carpet padding cost $1.00 per sq ft. installation is a flat rate of $250 how much will it cost me in total to install new carpeting?

15 ft long = 5 yards long

12 ft wide = 4 yards wide

Total area = 5 yds x 4 yds = 20 square yards

 

Cost of carpet = $36/sq.yd x 20 sq.yds = $720

Cost of padding = $1.00/sq.ft x 180 sq.ft = $180 

Cost of installation = $250

 

Total cost to install new carpet = $720 + $180 + $250 = $1150
