a physician prescribes a meal to have 750 calories, 40 g of protein, and 320 mg of vitamin C. The dietician decides to prepare the meal using steak (each 3- oz serving contains 300 Cal, 20 g of protein, and no vitamin C), baked potatoes (one baked potato contains 100 Cal, 5 g of protein and 20 mg of vitamin C), and Brussel sprouts (one 156-g serving contains 50 Cal,5 g of protein, and 100 mg of vitamin C). How many servings of each food are required to satisfy the physician’s requirements?

It is OK to fail, but don't give up.
TOTAL = . 750 Cal , 40g of Protein , 320 mg vC
---------------------------------------------------------------------------
1 Stake = 300 Cal , 20g of Protein , 0 mg vC
1 Baked Potato = 100 Cal , 5 g of Protein , 20 mg vC
1 Brussel Sprouts = 50 Cal , 5 g of Protein , 100 mg vC
converting this into matrix form Ax=b
we get that A is the variation of the meal, b is the answer or in this case the total, x is the number of stakes or potatos Brussel sprouts , x1, x2, x3 respectively.
[ 300 100 50; 20 5 5 ; 0 20 100]{x1 , x2, x3} =[750 40 320]

the answer contain a negative which is no possible of a physical quantity to be a negatively present.
please check the problem statement.

Mimi,
Did you get a chance to look at my solution posted at

?
Note that one of the servings came out negative. I believe I set it up correctly, so if I did not make any math errors, this combination of foods will not meet the requirements of the problem statement.
