f(x) = -3(x-1)2 + 5
g(x) = f(x+5) - 8
To find g(x) replace x in f(x) with x+5, then subtract 8:
g(x) = f(x+5)-8 = -3(x+5-1)2 + 5 - 8
g(x) = -3(x+4)2 - 3
The vertex is located at (-4, 3)

Vertex of f(x) is (1, 5). To get the vertex of g(x), move the vertex of f(x) 5 units to the left and 8 units down.
