There are an number of formulas for the area of the triangle. Here are four
1. The most familiar formula using the base b and height h:
A = bh/2
2. If two of the sides have lengths a, b and form angle of measure θ, then
A = (ab sin θ) / 2
3. Heron's formula, given that the three sides have lengths, a,b,c. Let s = P/2 = (a+b+c)/2 be the semiperimeter. Then
A = √[s(s - a)(s - b)(s - c)]
4. If P is the perimeter and r is the inradius then
A = Pr/2.
