At a park a picnic shelter covers 1/4 of an acre and a playground covers 5/8 of an acre how much area is covered by both the picnic shelter and the playground?

Picnic Shelter = 1/4 acre = 2/8 acre ( Equivalent fractions )

Playground    = 5/8 acre

 

Total = Picnic Shelter + Playground = 2/8 acre + 5/8 acre = 7/8 acre
