do you always graph the slope at a negative coordinate?

After you get the answer to the equation like y=3x+2. would you graph the constant for the slope (2) at -2?

 To graph 

 

 1. find any 2 points of the line , connect and extend.

 

     Easiest points are intercept points.

 

       Y = 3x +2 :  

    

         Intercept points:

 

          ( 0, 3 ) ( -2/3 , 0 ) 

 

   2 . Point and slope:

 

           ( 0 , 2 )    slope is 3

 

            3 points up , one to the right, to ( 5, 1)

 

           Connect ( 0, 2 ) to ( 5, 1), and extend.
