Alternatively, you could have used the slope-intercept form of the equation of a line, which is y = mx + b. We can use x = 1 and y = 2 since (1, 2) is a point on the line. The slope is represented by m, and it is 2. The letter b represents the y-intercept.

2 = 2(1) + b
2 = 2 + b
b = 0

The y-intercept is 0.

Now using the slope-intercept form, we have y = 2x + 0 or y = 2x as the equation of the line, which is the same answer we obtained using the point-slope form of the equation of a line.
