About Michael

My objective is to help students comprehend and master the material, not to simply provide answers. I helped an AP calculus student who was not satisfied with her B average elevate it to an A. I helped a college algebra student who, in her own words "hated math," raise her average from a D to a B. In three weeks, I helped a failing algebra II student begin to earn A's in the class. I can help you achieve similar success!

I have a magna cum laude B.A. degree in Mathematics from Christopher Newport University. My 20+ years of experience include tutoring students in pre-calculus, calculus I, and elementary statistics in the math lab at CNU. I have also worked as an instructor of pre-algebra, algebra I/II, and college algebra in the Math Emporium at Thomas Nelson Community College. As a private tutor, I have aided students in elementary math, pre-calculus, trigonometry, business calculus, calculus I, and AP calculus. I have also provided test prep skills for the SOL, STAAR, ACT, SAT, GED, ASVAB, AFOQT, and TEAS exams. I also have experience working with home-schooled and special needs students.

Thank you for your interest!
