what would the graph of y^2=-4x look like

 how do i figure that out without just using a graphing calculator? section 6.2 in trig book

If you solve for y,

 

y = ±√(-4x)

 

y₁ = -√(-4x)       and        y₂ = √(-4x)

 

Graph for x≤0.  You should get a shape that is a parabola rotated 90 degrees counterclockwise about the origin.
