simplify roots that are being divided

how does sqrt(12)/2 simplify to sqrt(3)

 

I asked a more complicated question about finding zero's of quadratic functions and the answer I received included sqrt(12)/2 which the person who answered stated it could be simplified to sqrt(3) but i'm not sure how that works. If someone could break down the basics on this that would be helpful.

sqrt(12)/2 = sqrt(4*3)/2 = 2sqrt(3)/2 = sqrt(3)
