If the thickness is 1.5 ft, then on both sides we have the blocks. The inner diameter is 12 - (2*1/5) = 9 ft. The radius, r=4.5 ft

The volume of a sphere, V = (4/3)*pi*r^3 

V = (4/3)*3.14*(4.5)^2

= 84.8 ft^3

We need to consider half of it, so

42.4 ft^3
