By middle, do you mean that line segment AD BISECTS BC ?
That's what is sounds like. I hope so, because we need it!
BUT unfortunately, that alone is not enough. We also need to make sure that it
also meets line AD intersects BC at RIGHT ANGLES as well,
making it a PERPENDICULAR BISECTOR. If that is the case, then triangles ADC and ADB
are congruent right triangles and THEN, YES AB = AC....
But you didn't.
So it's not.
