This is a question from the ncert tb grade 7 . The answer is 2 1/4 m . But I need the way we got the answer

You should make a drawing. From sapling # 1 to # 2, it's a distance 3/4 m.

From #2 to # 3 it's 3/4 m; from #3 to # 4 it's 3/4 m.

 

Total of these three distances is 3 times 3/4 m; 9/4 m = 2¼ m.
