so the equation is 

 

5.10(x) + 9.90(160-x) = 1132.80

 

Distribute the 9.90 into the parentheses  5.10 x + (9.90(160)) -9.90x =1132.80

 

Collect terms

 

9.90(160) - 1132.80 = 9.90x-5.10x
