Where I shop my favourite yogurt is sold in two sizes: 650 g for $5.50 and 1.75 kg for $11. Since I eat a lot of it I usually buy the larger size. This week the smaller size is offered at 30% off the regular price. If I want to stock up on yogurt, which size makes more sense this week? Explain

Since the smaller one is 30% off, lets see how much you would pay for one of them.  The smaller is 1.75kg.

 

Price for 1.75kg = $11(0.70) = $7.70

 

Price for 650kg = $5.50   ---> because no special sale on it

 

 

Now which one costs less?  That is the better buy.
